Royce Scott <lulady05@yahoo.com> says:
"I understand that there are many changes being made in the Kansas City school district, but some are not as well thought out as they should be concerning our children. I expressed my views to Mr. West and he immediately understood what I was talking about and responded rapidly to my concern. Thank you Mr. West. Whether it is heard or not you were on the job!!!"

Rose Middleton <rosemid@kc.rr.com> says:
"I read about Airick in the KC Star and then recently had the opportunity to meet him. He is intelligent, genuine and charismatic. I've been living in the urban core for thirty years and fought hard to save neighborhoods here. The city and its urban neighborhoods are doing much better now with new and vibrant change. Now it's time to work on saving the people of those neighborhoods. That starts with the kids. Airick, you have my volunteer efforts not just now, but as we march toward the future."

Vladimir Sainte <vsbn8@umkc.edu> says:
"I have only known Airick for a short time now, but it has been adequate enough to tell you that he is the catalyst for the dynamic change that the KCMSD desperately needs. I am a member of the Ivanhoe House Program that has been created by UMKC and the Ivanhoe Neighborhood Council. Through working with this program I know how imperative it is for a community to have an excellent and secure school system. On April 8th, I am giving Airick Leonard West my vote. If you also want to help strengthen the KCMSD, the academics of our youths and engage the community then please give him your vote as well. "

Katrina <ka423@umkc.edu> says:
"I am a freshman at UMKC School of Medicine. All my life, I went to Catholic schools in Kansas City because of the dilapidated state of KCMO public education. Now my little brother goes to University Academy and my family has a bigger stake in public education. My brother is friends with Airick and I have friends who went to Anytown with Airick. Their admirable descriptions of Airick led me to his campaign and learning about his platform. He is a paradigm of leadership, vision, and effective change. I know my little brother's education will benefit from Airick's policies and have faith in his ability to manifest his visions. "

Jennifer Hoyt <jennifermhoyt@gmail.com> says:
"I am the mother of a 6 year-old entering first grade in the '08-'09 school year. We live in the KC School District. And as such made plans for charter and wait-list for Montessori schools for the upcoming year. It seemed like the right thing to do - for his education and his safety. But still I lingered on being one who complains about the district and how unfortunate it is, etc. but doesn't do anything about it. Then I read about Airick in the KC Star Features and was inspired. Airick, you have helped me to remember to not overlook the area that we and many others call home. You have our support and our vote. I will be honest in saying that we haven't fully decided to send our son to neighborhood schools as of yet, but the conversation has been reopened and we want to be a part of the change. Thank you!"

Franny Knight <franny@frannyknight.com> says:
"I have just recently come to know Airick Leonard West and he is up there on my list of people for giving people hope, inspiration and something to look forward to. It is so important to have such hard working, intelligent, compassionate, turned on leaders in our public education system and I believe that Airick can do this for KCMO. Let's get behind our local candidate for "change that we can believe in". franny knight "

Megan Nufer <mnufer@mocsa.org> says:
"I had the opportunity to experience Airick in action as he led Anytown, a youth camp aimed at creating a sense of unity in a world of diversity. Airick continually surpassed my expectations of a leader - forthright and honest, he always challenged himself as he challenged our youth. His passion and enthusiasm do not lack in organization, direction, or intention. I fully support his campaign, as it will be a campaign for unity and measurable results."

Rachael Hoffman <rachaelhoff@gmail.com> says:
"Dear Kansas Citian, I am a young, idealistic twenty-two year old woman. I moved to Kansas City seven months ago. I work in a house of hospitality, where we regularly welcome homeless in our home for dinner and company. I am also a community organizer, and deeply engaged in our neighborhoods and developing leaders. I have not been here nearly as long as you have. I am probably younger than you are. I also have a monthly salary of $150 (I am a volunteer on a stipend). More importantly, I believe that the things I see in Kansas City can be different. I believe that I am an integral part of this building of a new community. I intend to stay in Kansas City, and am concerned about the direction we are heading together. I think that you are as well. In my short time here, I have encountered the dynamic that is Airick Leonard West. I have shared in his pain and frustration, I have heard and believed in his vision. I believe that now is the time to join with Airick in creating new partnerships and visions for our schools and communities. Therefore, I am pledging $30 to his campaign. That's about 1 dollar for every student in an average classroom. Or 15 dollars in these final 2 months of this campaign. Will you stand with me in creating something new, in demanding something different for our children? Will you stand with me in supporting Airick Leonard West for Kansas City School Board? Will you stand with me in pledging $30, $300, or $3,000 in support of Airick Leonard West for School Board? I sure hope so. Together we can dream and achieve a different future for our children and our city. Please join me. "

Kjersti Ehrie <kjersti.ehrie@gmail.com> says:
"Airick West is a visionary, a powerful leader, a calming presence. His ability to identify problems and define solutions with acute precision has baffled me since we first worked together."

Josh Burdette <burdettej@gmail.com> says:
"Airick is the man for the job. He has the vision and skills necessary to lead us in the right direction."

Rev. Arik Smith <rev_ariksmith@yahoo.com> says:
"Airick West is one of my oldest and most dear friends. I have been humbled by his unhindered commitment to the education of youth. I know personally that he is an advocate for both general learning skills like basic reading and writing and for life skills and how to be a functioning member of society. Airick will be the best choice for the education of our youth. It does not matter who else is running. Hands down Airick is the best man for the job. I am pulling for him 200 %. "

Brent Toellner <kcmizzoufan@hotmail.com> says:
"Just when it seems I've given up on the KCMO School District, Airick has come along and given me hope. This is a rare case where someone with great vision and leadership ability is wanting to jump in, get his hands dirty, and try to resolve one of the biggest black eyes in KCMO. Airick has the vision and enthusiasm to make a positive improvement on the district...and it's our responsibility as voters to be sure he gets the opportunity....for the benefit of all of us."

C. Colby Thomson, CEO Allied Strategy <colby@alliedstrategy.com> says:
"So rarely in public service is there such a clear choice... So rarely does a man with charisma, integrity, and marketable skills in every facet of business, technology, and leadership choose to set aside his career for a school district. Airick Leonard West is the hero that every school board needs, and none receive. If our community cannot see fit that he makes it to office, I can only hang my head in shame."

Mary A. Rabon, Tri-Blenheim Neighborhood Association <mrabon@kc.rr.com> says:
"Airick West is a conscientious bridge-builder in our community. In working with him on numerous neighborhood projects, I have found that he is someone who has a good leadership style and a passion for public education that will enable him to successfully face the challenges that come with the Kansas City, Missouri School District. I believe that with the strong commitment Airick brings to the table, he will benefit not only the KCMO Public School District, but our community, our children, and our future as well. "

Mark Dillon <cecszar@aol.com> says:
"Airick is an effective consensus builder. I think he would build excellent partnerships with the private sector to help KC children reach a new level of achievement. "

Elliott Boone <homejames@hotmail.com> says:
"Airick is honesty, Airick is motivation, Airick is dedication, Airick is love. Airick is all of these things and so much more. His dedication to all that should belong to children is overwhelming and when he states and set out in his mind that he is out to help the children of the Kansas City Missouri School District, one needs to be aware of the minotaurian effort that he will put into this project."
- Wednesday, January 23, 2008

David Peironnet <DRP@kcnet.com> says:
"Airick impresses me as someone who can get people thinking. They can go beyond what makes them angry or what they want and instead to how to achieve a good outcome. That's a valuable trait and one which is desperately needed by the KCMO school system. That's why I support Airick."
- Wednesday, January 23, 2008

Jake Wagner <wagnerjaco@umkc.edu> says:
"Airick West has the motivation, energy and vision to move the district in a new direction. He has demonstrated through his work in Ivanhoe the capacity to drive positive social change at the neighborhood level. He also recognizes the need for strong relationships between institutions and the grassroots for real change to occur. I fully support his candidacy."
